Barcelona: Burnley offered Barcelona 12 million euros for Cucurella
Barcelona Opted to stay in Spain with Getafe
Premier League club Burnley made a bid of 12 million euros to Barcelona for Marc Cucurella before the 20-year-old decided to move to Getafe on a season-long loan.
The bid is understood to have come in before a deal was struck between the two clubs. However, the promising youngster, who was at loan at Eibar last season, opted to stay in Spain instead.
During his presentation at Getafe, Cucurella revealed that he was swayed by the proposition of playing under Jose Bordalas as well as the attraction of Europa League football.
The agreement between Barcelona and Getafe includes an option-to-buy the player for 6 million euros – which is not obligatory – by the end of next season.
The Catalan side also would be entitled to 40 percent of the profit from the player’s next sale as part of the deal.
