Ireland U19s beat Czech Republic at Euros to make last four

The Irish U19s have reached the semi-finals of the European Championship after a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic.

The victory, coupled with Norway’s 1-0 loss to France, means Tom Mohan’s side will face Portugal next.

Ireland took a deserved lead in the 35th minute after a Jonathan Afolabi goal.

With just ten minutes left, the Czechs equalised. It just took a couple of minutes for Ireland to reclaim the lead through Barry Coffey.

Ireland will face Portugal on Wednesday but there’s some bad news too as Afolabi and Lee O’Connor will miss the game through suspension.

They both received questionable yellow cards towards the end of the game.
