Tottenham news and transfers live: Spurs boosted as Barcelona make Neymar decision

36views

Hello and welcome to the live Tottenham blog.

After a fourth-placed finish last season, and reaching the Champions League final, hopes were high going into the new campaign.

And following an opening-weekend win against newly-promoted Aston Villa, Mauricio Pochettino’s side earned a 2-2 draw in a very difficult and slightly controversial match versus Manchester City.

However, Spurs racked up their first defeat of the season at home to Newcastle on Sunday, as they failed to overcome a dogged defensive display from the visitors, with a questionable missed penalty call on Harry Kane.

Up next is the north London derby this afternoon, with Spurs facing rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. We’ll have all the build up to that huge clash right here.

Elsewhere, Spurs have been drawn against Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade in the group stage of the Champions League.

Off the pitch, the English transfer window may be shut, but teams in Europe can still make signings. Will Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld stay until the end of the season?

We’ll have all the latest breaking Premier League news and transfer gossip below in our daily blog dedicated to Tottenham Hotspur.
