Eleven players have played for Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League
Chelsea and Liverpool are two of six teams to have participated in every season of the Premier League.
In that time there has been 11 players to don both the famous blue and red of both teams.
But which players performed better for Chelsea? And who did Liverpool get the best out of?
Express Sport has analysed the 11 stars who have played for both Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League era and decided where they performed best.
Chelsea (2001-2004) – 43 appearances, 4 goals
Liverpool (2005-2007) – 23 appearances, 2 goals
Zenden became the first player to play for both clubs in the Premier League when he joined Liverpool in 2005.
His first season at Anfield was cut short due to a serious knee injury and he failed to live up to the promise shown previously at Chelsea.
Liverpool (2001/02, loan) – 20 appearances, 4 goals
Chelsea (2008-2012) – 125 appearances, 38 goals
This one is pretty easy as Anelka only had the one season at Liverpool, on loan from Real Madrid.
The Frenchman won the Golden Boot in 2009 and won three major honours with Chelsea.
Glen Johnson enjoyed a better spell at Liverpool than Chelsea

Liverpool (2009-2015) – 160 appearances, 8 goals
Johnson won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2005 but was never a regular starter during his time at the club.
He became a key man for Liverpool upon joining in 2009, which gives the Reds the edge on this one.
Liverpool (2007-2010) – 92 appearances, 18 goals
Chelsea (2010-2013) – 14 appearances, 1 goal
Benayoun scored some key goals for Liverpool during his three years there.
The midfielder was loaned out to Arsenal and West Ham when he was at Chelsea, which is why he only featured 14 times.

Liverpool (2010-2013) – 26 appearances, 3 goals
Cole will be remembered far more fondly by Chelsea fans than Liverpool.
The former England international won six major honours at Stamford Bridge which made this a simple decision.

Meireles spent just one season at each club before leaving England for Fenerbahce in 2012.
His FA Cup and Champions League win with the Blues gives them the edge on this one.

Borini came through the ranks at Chelsea but was rarely given a chance to impress for the first team.
Difficult to give a verdict on this one but a couple of goals wins it for Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah has been sensational at Liverpool

Liverpool (2013-2019) – 116 appearances, 50 goals
Despite his injury problems, Liverpool fans will remember Sturridge fondly.

Liverpool (2013-2014, loan) – 19 appearances, 1 goal
Moses only became a regular at Chelsea once he had returned from his Liverpool loan.
He starred as a wing-back under Antonio Conte and became a fan favourite, for one season at least, as Chelsea won the Premier League.

No explanation is really needed here, the stats say it all.
Salah has already won two Golden Boots, albeit one joint, at Liverpool and you would be brave to bet against him winning another this term.
